Travel information
We shall meet the students on arrival at Schiphol Airport Amsterdam. Our students from the department MBRT will join you during the trip from Amsterdam(Airport) towards Eindhoven (accommodation). Traintickets cost approximately 20,-. (single)
(See appendix 2 and 3)
If the accommodation is located in the centre of the city, travelling time will last for about 10 minutes to school.(by bus or bike)
The cost of traveling to the hospitals, during your clinical placement, in the south of Holland will be paid by the Hogeschool Eindhoven Department MBRT.
You will get more specific information in the second part of this year.

Student Accommodation
Fontys Accommodation Agency will provide accommodation. Already sent towards your institution a leaflet. You need to fill in this application form and send this back to our agency. Prices are reasonable approx. 325,-/ 350,-
The accomodation includes also cooking facilities and will be situated in the city of Eindhoven. We hope more information will be available at the end of November 2005.
You will have to react to the agency (by applicationform) before 15 october including payment deposit.
Meals
Students can buy their meals at our school. Prices are reasonable.
Lots of our students take their own sandwiches etc. to school.
Furthermore, placement students can have their meal at the restaurant in the hospital during the clinical. Again prices are reasonable
Writing home, receiving post
Students should exchange postal adresses with their homesituation.
Dept. MBRT will provide e-mail adresses towards the students.
Use of telephone is restricted . In case of emergency the dept. MBRT will facilitate.
Insurance
Students have to make their own arrangements for travel insurance purposes.
Professional insurance will be provided by the host country for your clinical placement.
Health care is not free for EG citizens. Before you leave your homecountry, ask your insurance company.
Students will be asked by Fontys - registration desk to provide information about their insurance. Without insurance you are not able to register yourself as a student!
Immunisation and Medical record
Before you arrive in The Netherlands, we expect that you had already a tuberculosis examination at your home-country. We need a tuberculosis-free certificate. Hospitals also require a Hepatitis A/B and MRSA-free certificate (Metyciline Resitant Staphylococus Aureus). This test should also be done at your home-country.
The TBC- and MRSA-tests need to be done in the month December 2005! Tests done before December 2005 are not valid.
Clinical placement and uniforms
The hospitals have all the standard radiographic facilities. The working time
will be between approx. 08.30 - 15.00 hrs. during your clinical placement.
It depends which hospital you will be staying.
You do not need to bring your own uniforms.
If policy describes, you have to bring your own radiation monitor and film markers which, of course, you take back with you on completion of the exchange program. Otherwise Fontys will provide these items.
The name of the hospital will be provided in the first week of the exchange.
Information about curriculum and books
You are expected to have general radiographic knowledge appropriate to a third year student.
General understanding of the English language is required. No previous knowledge of Magnetic Resonance will be required.

Beside booklets, use of internet will offer you lots of MR-sites
Studyfacilities are well organised at our school. You can have your own E-mail adress.
You should bring several passport-sized photographs.
You will be issued with a contract to cover your insurance while working in the hospital.
The clinical placement will last for about 3 weeks! (situation sept. 2005)
City and country information:
Weather/clothes
It can be very cold and windy during the first three months of the year. It is advisable to bring warm clothes and shoes/boots with you.
Bank and money
You can use many different creditcards in the Netherlands. Travellercheques can be very useful too. If possible, try to arrange an accountnumber at a bank in Eindhoven. This option is difficult to organise. Depends on the bank you want to use.
